After two years of reviewing and revising zoning regulations in the Charleston County Comprehensive Plan, Density Bonuses have been removed. As a means to override the number of acres per residential unit required in existing zoning regulations, Density Bonuses were seen by activists (including stalwarts on our EIPA Board of Directors) as detrimental to the preservation of the rural qualities of Edisto and Wadmalaw Islands.
